Q

What strengths does your experience add to the firm?

A

Throughout my educational career, I have always enjoyed delving into convoluted issues or areas of the law which were new to me and difficult to master. I learned that I thrive most when I am faced with challenging concepts and can apply myself to mastering every aspect of a given topic. My willingness and desire to gain a deep understanding of various intricate subjects has manifested itself as diligence, attention to detail and the overall motivation to work hard. This work ethic reflects in every case I work on and any problem I am tasked with solving for our clients.

Q

What drew you to this line of work?

A

I began working for Berding & Weil during my second year of law school. I was lucky enough to be able to work on both construction defect cases and in the capacity as general counsel right from the start. While it was a field I was unfamiliar with at the time, I quickly became intrigued by the complex nature of construction defect litigation. The variety of legal issues I was analyzing on a daily basis for my general counsel work constantly kept me on my toes and allowed me to peruse various avenues of the law. I most enjoyed that every case was different and not a single day was repetitive.

Q

What brings you the most satisfaction on the job?

A

The unique nature of my position serving on both the litigation and general counsel team allows me to work very closely with our Associations’ managers and Boards of Directors. I very much enjoy the personal nature of the relationships I have built with our clients. The best days are those on which I spend a long time researching a complicated topic for a client and am able to call the manager or Board and present a solution. There is nothing quite as satisfying as solving a difficult problem for a client and being rewarded with the feeling that I have helped ease someone’s mind even in the slightest with a proposed answer or solution.

Q

What do you enjoy most about working at Berding | Weil?

A

The team of attorneys, paralegals, assistants and staff at Berding & Weil across the Walnut Creek, San Diego and Costa Mesa office is incredible. I have learned more in my first few months of being an attorney with the guidance provided by the impressive team of individuals that make up our firm than I could have ever imagined. I enjoy that our firm places great emphasis on creating a cohesive environment with teamwork and kindness at its core. If I am ever faced with a difficult task that I cannot solve, I know I can pick up the phone and choose from a long list of experienced, intelligent legal professionals on my team for guidance in the right direction.

Q

What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?

A

When I am not working, I enjoy going to the beach, watching soccer (Bayern Munich), exploring San Diego and having a good beer at one of this city’s many breweries. I also enjoy puzzling (a new hobby I have picked up during quarantine), playing the piano and spending as much time as I can in the sun.
