Other than my quick wit and willingness to shoot it straight, I've represented associations for almost 15 years as their general counsel and have seen just about everything. Experience helps to bring a steady hand to the job which results in efficient and cost-effective counsel. It's essential to keep calm under pressure and provide guidance that never loses sight of both the pragmatic and the legal aspects of community governance and management.

Initially, it was the real estate aspect and getting to work with communities, but as I continued, it's the people and the continually evolving changes they encounter that have kept me interested and connected to this industry. I learn something new every day.

Solving complex, controversial, or long-standing problems in a way that's win-win for all involved. Too often attorneys approach legal issues as a zero sum game which often results in higher costs and lower satisfaction. Reorienting the approach to find solutions that work for all is challenging and rewarding. It's my professional catnip!

Traveling, hiking, cooking, listening to music, and doing pretty much anything else with my husband. We have a strong sense of adventure!
